Shepherd ISD is located in beautiful East Texas in the southwestern portion of

San Jacinto County. On the map, Shepherd can be found approximately 55 miles north

of Houston, 45 miles north of Humble, 40 miles east of The Woodlands, 45 miles east of

Huntsville, 16 miles south of Livingston, and 12 miles north of Cleveland. Although

Shepherd residents enjoy a healthy rural lifestyle, access to malls,outdoor theaters,

restaurants, sports centers, and other amenities of the larger cities are just a short drive

away along State Highway 59. A national forest borders Shepherd ISD on the west,
